A rich tradition in Athens, Georgia
Athens Refrigeration & Appliance was founded in 1945 as the first new appliance store in Athens, Georgia following World War II. For 50 years, Athens Refrigeration & Appliance was located at the corner of Broad and Jackson in downtown Athens, right next door to the University of Georgia.
A long-time commitment to customer service
Athens Refrigeration & Appliance was built on the principles of serving the Athens Area with service in mind. The company has always dedicated to educating customers about appliances before the purchase and service to customers long after the sale.
It takes a family to run a business
The Sosebee family has had a long associate with Athens Refrigeration & Appliance dating back to 1947 when Jake Sosebee, Sr. went to work for Athens Refrigeration & Appliance as a service technician and later managed the store for the Westervelt estate. Bill Sosebee and Marilyn Wilkes purchased Athens Refrigeration and Appliance in 1986, carrying on a long heritage of offering new appliances and providing service for their customers.
Modern day sales and service
In December 1995, Athens Refrigeration & Appliance relocated after 50 years in downtown Athens to its current address at 2030 Epps Bridge Parkway. In the new location, Athens Refrigeration & Appliance expanded to carry premium brand appliances for upscale homes in additional to the original appliance line up that has been its history. New brand names include Viking, Bosch, Wolf, Sub-Zero, and other highend lines, but Athens Refrigeration & Appliance still specializes in selling and repairing appliances, paying close attention to each customer's special needs and dreams. With a trained sales staff, Athens Refrigeration & Appliance is continuously improving its knowledge of the newest appliance technology available to meet and exceeds its goal of remaining your hometown appliance specialist.
